Minister Admits Further Autism Unit Places Required In Clare Schools In Future

Clare’s Green Party Senator has expressed concern that three quarters of autism units in this county are attached to DEIS schools.

The Department of Education has confirmed they expect demand for places ASD units in schools across Clare to rise significantly in the coming years.

Nine special classes supporting students with autism at second level are currently operating in this county, with one of those newly on stream this year.
