The Transport Minister has "noted" a call from Clare County Council for it to be representated on the board of Shannon Group.

Councillors had passed a motion calling for the recognition, given the importance of the group and in particular Shannon Airport to the county and the region.
Former county manager Tom Coughlan was appointed to the board while still at the helm of the local authority, and retains his boardroom seat following his retirement from the Council.
The Council's call was formally forwarded to the Transport Minister, who has merely 'noted' their request in a short reply that has been forwarded onto local representatives.
