A Shannon-based engineering firm has acquired a UK manufacturer for what's described as a multi-million euro sum.

Mincon has purchased Marshalls Hard Metals, which is based in Sheffield and has 46 staff.
The UK company had sales of around 4.25 million last year, with a fifth of this accounted for by Mincon.
The Clare company was floated on the stock market in 2013, and it's understood to be in active discussions to buy a number of smaller companies.
