The number of people signing on the live register in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary has dropped by 13.1% over the past year to just under 28,600.

746 people left the region's dole queues in March – full figures for Clare will be released later this week.

Nationally, today's CSO figures reveal that unemployment has fallen to 10 per cent, the lowest rate since 2009.
