MidWest Unemployment Figures Climbed Last Month

The number of people on the live register in the MidWest climbed last month, despite a fall nationally.

An additional 94 people joined dole queues in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary in May, even though there was a drop throughout Ireland of over 700.

Year-on-year figures show a continued drop in the number of people claiming some form of unemployment support.

Nationally, 262,000 thousand people are on the live register, the lowest figure since October 2008.
