MidWest Simon Says Decrease In Homeless Figures “Hardly Rates”

A local advocate for homelessness has said the marginal decrease in homeless people in Clare ‘hardly rates’ at all.

The number of people seeking assistance fell from 31 in the week before Christmas to 29 at the end of January in the county.

However the figures are considerably higher than this time last year.

MidWest Simon’s Housing Support Team Leader, Tracey Reddy, says any decrease in figures has to be welcomed but she believes the numbers in emergency accommodation are still too high.
