New figures show almost 300 homeless people have presented themselves to Clare County Council in the past year.
59 of those were placed in emergency accommodation such as B&Bs or hotels, sometimes for several months, 39 were referred to the Laurel Lodge Hostel for men, while the remainder were not placed for a variety of reasons.
General Manager of Midwest Simon, Jackie Bonfield says that while a number of measures are being implemented nationally, new solutions need to be found to ease the severity of the crisis here
