No HAP properties were available to rent in Clare between July and September.
Simon Communities of Ireland’s latest “Locked Out of the Market Report,” which examines 16 areas across the country, shows there were just 24 homes available within Housing Assistance Payment limits at the end of last month.

Currently in Clare, HAP limits range from €220 for one adult to €550 per month for a couple with 3 children, however the local authority can go 35% above these rates, if rental accommodation is not available within this treshold.
MidWest Simon CEO Niall Garvey says these rates need to be increased drastically.
