MidWest Hospital Campaigners Make Fresh Calls To Reverse Closure Of 24 Hour Ennis Services

Health campaginers are making fresh calls for the reversal of the closure of 24-hour A&E services at Ennis General Hospital.

It comes as overcrowding in the region’s main facility at University Hospital Limerick is to be discussed at today’s meeting of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West.

The MidWest Hospital Campaign group says the move needs to be considered in light of the consistently high level of overcrowding at UHL, with 79 people on trolleys yesterday in Dooradoyle according to the INMO.

Ballyvaughan native Noeleen Moran, who’s a member of the group, is hopeful the calls will be backed at today’s Health Forum meeting.
