A MidWest addiction counsellor is asking the public to be mindful not to engage in ‘sober-shaming’ this Christmas.

Michael Guerin from Cuan Mhuire Treatment Centre says those in the early years of recovery are the most vulnerable.

Those beginning to come to terms with alcohol addiction are advised to avoid social events over the festive period due to the pressure to consume alcohol.
