MEPS calls for end to Knock-Shannon Squabble

Clare’s European Representatives have called for an end to what they described as a "squabble" between Knock and Shannon Airports.

Their comments come following complaints from Knock airport and some representatives in the North West who feel that Shannon has been given an unfair advantage with it’s new independent, Debt free status.

The Taoiseach has set up a committee to look at concerns raised by Knock Airport, while the European Commission is to consider claims of competition breach by Fianna Fail Senator Marc McSharry.

His MEP party colleague Pat the Cope Gallagher believes there’s room for both airports to thrive.
