MEP calls for action on septic tank ruling

Calls have been made on the government to take immediate action curb Ireland’s losses from a European Court of Justice ruling on septic tanks.

The ECJ has fined Ireland 2 million euro for failing to regulate the installation and use of close on 500-thousand septic tanks.

A daily fine of 12 thousand euro is also being imposed until the issue is properly addressed.
