Memorial to East Clare War of Independence fighter to be unveiled

A new memorial in honour of war of indepdence fighter Robert Byrne will be unveiled in Meelick today. 

The Limerick man died in the village after being shot by a member of the RIC during an attempt to escape a workhouse in the city.
