West Clare Councillors are to discuss a proposal to erect a memorial to honour the late Catriona Lucas.
The Doolin Coast Guard volunteer was the first member of the Irish Coast Guard to lose their life while on duty following an incident while she was taking part in a search of Kilkee last September.
Now, West Clare Independent Councillor Ian Lynch is proposing that a memorial be erected in Kilkee in her memory, and to mark the heroic efforts made by everyone involved on that tragic day
He thinks this would be an appropriate, and a worthy tribute.
