A ceremony is being held in Ennis this afternoon to mark the 70th anniversary of the Pan Am Flight 1-10 crash at Shannon Airport, which killed 30 people.

The aircraft was travelling from London to Shannon as part of its round-the-world journey from San Francisco to New York City.

Ten crew members and 20 passengers were killed and 28 people from seven countries are now buried at Drumcliffe Cemetery – 11 of their relatives will attend the ceremony today.

Bella Hehir has looked after the grave with her husband Flan for over 15 years and says even when they aren’t around, it’ll continue to be minded:

That’s taking place at Drumcliffe Cemetery at 2pm.
