A Clare Government TD is calling for a leak in the Dáil Chamber roof to be fixed with Cratloe Oak.
Addressing the Taoiseach, Fianna Fáil Deputy Cathal Crowe called for government backing for targetted projects to reintegrate native trees in specific woodlands, like Cratloe Woods.
During his speech, the Dáil Chamber’s roof sprung a leak, with the Meelick Deputy suggesting Cratloe Oak be used to replace the beams overhead.
Taoiseach Mícheál Martin responded in jest to the rainwater before supporting Deputy Crowe’s proposal to focus on protecting indigenous tree species.
