Clare Green party county councillor Brian Meaney has admitted he would be interested in becoming deputy leader of the party.

It follows the election of Eamon Ryan as the Party’s new leader on Friday.

The Greens have no  national representative and Cllr Meaney is only one of three party members represented at local authority level in Ireland.

The deadline for applications is this Friday and Brian Meaney wants the party to get back to its roots.
