Clare’s Labour TD has called on the government to back up the announcement of a new transatlantic route from Shannon Airport with the next steps in establishing it’s independence.

Deputy Michael McNamara says he regards United Airlines’ announcement of a summer service between Shannon and Chicago as a vote of confidence in Clare’s international airport
However, he feels it now needs to be followed with the swift separation of Shannon from the DAA, in order to allow the airport to grow further.
