The supermarket chain Tesco is one of the two biggest buyers of Irish beef, but Deputy Michael McNamara feels the supermarket giant was at the centre of a dispute with Irish farmers over the low prices being paid for beef last year.
The East Clare TD feels the appointment creates a conflict between Mr. Keohane's interests and those of Irish farmers.
