McNamara calls for ease on beef exporting restrictions

The competition authority is investigating the rules on exporting live cattle from Ireland.

It's after a Clare government TD claimed the current regulations are anti competitive and could be breaking EU law.

Labour's Michael McNamara says the restrictions need to be rowed back to help farmers already going through serious finanacial difficulties.

He's complained to the Dáil the competition authority and the EU – and says he's hopeful of a response
