McMahon Disappointed At Howlin’s Town Council Comments

A former Labour Councillor in Clare says he's disappointed that it has taken so long for a senior party figure to realise that Town Councils should have been retained.

Speaking at his party's conference this weekend, Minister Brendan Howlin insisted Town Councils needed to be reformed, but admitted they should not have been abolished.

He also said he wants to reverse what he describes as "one of his biggest regrets" of the coalition's term of office.
