McInerney Misses Out In Seanad By-Election Bid

Doonbeg businesswoman Rita McInerney has missed out on securing the Fianna Fáil nomination for the upcoming Seanad by-elections.

Ms. McInerney was one of twelve candidates, and the only one from Clare, who had sought the backing of Fianna Fáil’s parliamentary party members in getting their name onto the ballot paper.

Former Senator Gerry Horkan was selected instead.
