The Mayor of Clare is confident that local Gardai are sufficiently equipped to tackle the recent escalation of violent crime in Ennis.
Gardai engaged in an extensive search on Friday following a hit and run incident, which required the support of armed Garda units from Limerick and Galway as well as a unit from the National Garda Helicopter force.

Multiple vehicles were also seized following the discharge of a firearm in the Cloughleigh area towards the end of last week.
Killaloe based Fianna Fail Councillor Tony O’Brien says he is confident in the strength of the force of the Gardai locally.
