The Mayor of Clare has highlighted Shannon Airport and the Cliffs of Moher as central to developing tourism throughout County Clare.
Councillor Pat Hayes was speaking following the launch of a new multilingual tourist brochure and map during at the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience which is celebrating 5 years in business this week.
Visitor numbers have topped four million since its official opening in 2007 and Despite a fall in foreign visitors since the recession, Clare’s tourism landmark welcomed over 809 thousand visitors last year.
The Mayor of Clare feels the Centre is important in initially attracting visitors to the Banner County but also to other attractions as well.
