It follows a survey undertaken by Clare County Council which received almost 1,800 responses with 7 in 10 people in Ennis wanting “immediate” Pedestrianisation of the town.

Just 8.5 percent of respondents indicated they did not want any form of pedestrianisation in the town.

Mayor of Ennis, Ann Norton says it would be especially benificial for people with disabilities and wheelchair users in the town.
