The Mayor of Clare believes the Shannon Masterplan will bring the town ‘into the 21st century’.
The draft plan, which is set to be adopted in January, proposes to ‘unlock development potential’ in the town centre and ‘guide its built and economic development’ into the future.

An improved main street has been earmarked under the initiative, along with the creation of a new street and a new town square.
Sixmilebridge-based Independent Councillor and Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, PJ Ryan, believes Shannon has been under utilised for a long time.
