Trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital are now 68% higher than pre-pandemic figures
The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 1,857 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick throughout May, a rise of 1% on the same month last year.

It’s a rise of 755, however, when compared to May 2019.
The INMO has called on the HSE to take immediate corrective measures to deal with the ongoing trolley crisis.
