May Promises Investigation Into London Tower Block Fire

Firefighters in have been working through to night in London to try and damp down flames in a block of flats where at least 12 people have died.

More than 24 hours after the blaze took hold the building is still burning.

Police have warned the number dead in west London’s Grenfell tower is expected to rise, as crews search the highest floors and dozens remain unaccounted for.

The British Prime Minister Theresa May’s promised there’ll be a ‘proper investigation’ which is expected to address issues such as how the fire spread so quickly, and why people were unable to escape.

Meanwhile, it is reported Muslim men who’d been up early marking Ramadan – may have helped wake up their neighbours.

The nearby Al-Manaar mosque has opened its doors as a temporary relief centre.
