Masterplan To Safeguard Parteen Ahead Of Limerick Northern Distributor Road In The Works

It’s feared that Parteen will have its ‘heart and identity’ torn out, if something isn’t done to offset the impact of the Limerick Northern Distributor Road.

The controversial €150 million project was given the final go-ahead a year ago, once concerns by Limerick Councillors were addressed, but the project is still some way off completion.

There has been strong opposition from residents on the Clare side of the border, who are concerned over the impact of constructing the route through flood plains and that it will dissect the village of Parteen.
