The sentencing of US soldier Bradley Manning, who admitted leaking intelligence to Wikileaks, begins today

The 25-year-old whistleblower was yesterday acquitted by a military judge of "aiding the enemy" .
It was the most serious of the 21 charges he was facing – and carried a sentence of life without parole.
However, he was found guilty of most of the other charges – for which he now faces up to 136 years in military detention.
Manning has already spent three years in military custody awaiting his trial.
