Gardaí are continuing to search for a prisoner who escaped from a jail in Co. Cavan yesterday evening.
The inmate, believed to be 26 year old Martin McDermott, from Raphoe in Co. Donegal, absconded from Loughan Prison in Blacklion.

The exact circumstances of how Mr. McDermott escaped are not yet known – but it’s understood prison officers noticed he was missing at around 5pm when they were doing the evening roll call.
Mr McDermott was sentenced to seven years in jail last July for the manslaughter of Leitrim Garda Gary McLoughlin.
Gardaí have launched a full scale cross border search – and all airport and ports have been told to be on high alert.
