Management And Staff At Element Six To Return To Talks

Representatives of management and workers at Element Six are to resume talks at the Workplace Relations Commission.

Both sides are gathering today for the first time since last Wednesday morning, when a strike at the company's Shannon plant was averted at the eleventh hour.

Sources say that progress has been made by both sides, though it's unclear at this stage whether a deal will be struck today.

SIPTU represents around a quarter of the 400 staff at Element Six, which was established in Shannon in the 1960s as De Beers.
