A man in his late twenties has been seriously injured in a road crash near the Clare-Galway border.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash on the R352 Portumna – Scariff Road near Derryoober national school at around 4 o'clock this morning.
One vehicle, which was travelling in the direction of Whitegate, was involved in the collision.
The driver was not seriously injured, but the passenger was seriously hurt.
He was taken to University Hospital Galway where he is continuing to receive treatment.
The road has been sealed off, pending a forensic examination, and Gardaí in Loughrea are investigating.
