A 35-year-old man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for his partner’s murder in Ennis.
Patrick Ballard, formerly of Ashford Court Hotel, stamped on and kicked Sharon Bennett in the Market area of the town on January 28th last year.

She was taken to hospital but lost her fight for life on February 10th.
The judge sentenced Patrick Ballard to the mandatory term of life in prison at the Central Criminal Court today.
