A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with a robbery of Ennis this week.

The incident occured just before 9:30 on Friday morning, and saw a lone male enter the store in The Market area of the town, before allegedly making off with a sum of money.
Michael Gammell, with an address at 1 Ivy House, Barrack Street, Ennis, appeared before a special sitting of Ennis District Court where he was charged with robbery arising out of the incident.
He was remanded in custody by Judge Eugene O'Kelly, and will appear before the court once more on Wednesday.
