A man has died in a car crash in Co Monaghan.

The 43-year-old was the passenger in a car which collided with a ditch on the Monaghan to Glaslough Road at Crowey, Silverstream, shortly before two o’clock this morning.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car – a 40-year old woman – was taken to Cavan General Hospital with minor injuries. A second woman travelling in the car at the time was uninjured.
The road is currently closed as Gardaí carry out a forensic examination of the scene. Diversions are in place.
