Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run incident in South East Clare.
A man in his 80’s was injured in the incident, which happened in Parteen on Sunday.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted around 6.40pm on Sunday evening to a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian in South East Clare, close to the Limerick border.
It’s understood a man in his 80’s was struck by a car travelling in the Limerick direction on the R464 at Parteen.
The driver failed to remain at the scene and Gardaí believe the vehicle may have sustained some damage in the incident.
The male pedestrian was subsequently brought to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of injuries which are believed at this time to be non-life-threatening.
Investigations are ongoing.
