Man In 60s Fatally Injured In East Clare Road Traffic Collision

A man has died following a road traffic collision in East Clare this morning.

The incident involving a pedestrian and a tractor occurred at about 10:45am at Ballymulcashel a short distance from Kilmurry Village.

Gardaí and National Ambulance Service paramedics responded to the scene along with units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Shannon station.

The pedestrian, a man in his 60’s, was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to University Hospital Limerick for a post mortem exam.  

The road where the collision occurred is currently closed from its junction with the R462 Kilkishen to Kilmurry road where a technical examination will take place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to make it available to them.
