A 41-year old man has been found guilty of threatening to kill an Ennis dentist.
At Ennis Circuit Court, a jury of 10 men and two women took 45 minutes to find Eoin Hannan of Kilrush Rd, Ennis guilty of threatening to kill Dr Tony Cotgreave at his Ennis surgery on May 11th 2012.
The court heard that Mr. Hannan made the threat seven months after Dr. Cotgreave performed an emergency restoration on a tooth broken by a chicken bone.
In evidence, Mr. Hannan said that Dr. Cotgreave gave him the impression that “I was going to end up a toothless gummy bear.
The jury also found Mr. Hannan guilty in relation to two public order offences, but he was cleared of threatening to burn down Dr. Cotgreave’s practice.
Mr. Hannan denied making the threats to Dr Cotgreave.
Judge Gerald Keyes remanded him in custody to Ennis Circuit Court on Tuesday to consider an application for bail before setting a date for sentencing.
