A man is due in court this morning charged in connection with the death of a woman in County Roscommon at the weekend.
49 year old Ann Henry was found with stab wounds outside her home in the Abbeytown area of Roscommon town on Saturday.
Gardaí in Roscommon were called to the scene at Abbeytown at around half past two on Saturday afternoon where they found Ann Henry with serious stab wounds.
Ms Henry was taken to Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe but efforts to save her were unsuccessful.
A post mortem examination was carried out but results are not being released by Gardaí at this time.
A 25 year old man was arrested for questioning – and he is now due to appear at Galway District Court later this morning.
Meanwhile Gardaí in Roscommon have asked anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack to contact them with information.
