A 34-year old man is to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court this morning, charged in connection with a botched tiger kidnapping in the city.

The man was arrested last Friday – a week after a 19-year old post mistress’ son was kidnapped, and held by a gang who sought a ransom for his safe return.
No ransom was paid and the youth managed to escape unharmed.
A 21-year old man arrested following the incident was released without charge last night.
A 15-year old boy has already been charged in connection with the incident.
