A 30 year old man is due in court this morning charged in connection with the sexual assault of two young girls in Athlone.

The six and nine year old girls were allegedly lured away from a birthday party and sexually assaulted on Saturday afternoon.
Three men were arrested after the girls managed to escape and raise the alarm. Two of them were released without charge whilst a third man was charged last night.
