A man in his 20s is due to appear before Limerick District Court, charged in connection with the unlawful discharge of a firearm during an incident in Ennis.
Shortly after 10pm on Friday, Gardaí responded to reports of gunshots outside a residential property on Lahinch Road, Ennis and damage was caused to the property, but no one was injured.
A man in his 40s was arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, but was later released without charge and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
During follow-up inquiries, a second male aged in his 20s was subsequently arrested and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in Clare and has since been charged.
The investigation is ongoing.
