A 27 year old man is due before a special sitting of Kilkenny District this lunchtime, charged in connection with a fatal stabbing in the city on Thursday evening.
Mairead Moran died after being attacked at her workplace in the Market Cross Shopping Centre.
Locals in Kilkenny are said to be still struggling to come to terms with the death of a 26 year old woman from Kilmoganny.
Mairead Moran was stabbed to death at her place of work in broad daylight.
The fatal attack happened at around 8:30 on Thursday evening in the Holland and Barrett store at The Market Cross Shopping Centre in Kilkenny.
Ms Moran was rushed to the nearby St Luke's Hospital, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
Gardai have been examining CCTV footage and a postmortem was carried out at Waterford Regional Hospital yesterday.
