A man has died following an altercation at a pub in Limerick last night.
The 24 year old was seriously injured when he was stabbed just before midnight.
An investigation is underway after a 24 year old man was stabbed at a pub on Sexton Street North in Limerick at around five to twelve last night.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was pronounced dead shortly before 1am.
A post mortem examination is due to take place later today and the local coroner has been notified.
The scene has been preserved for a technical exam and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
No arrests have been made and investigations are continuing.
