The community of Kilrush is in shock following the death of a popular local man in a house fire this morning.
The 53 year old, who had been living in the town for a number of years, died following the blaze at his home on Chapel Drive in the Cappa area of the town.

A technical examination of the scene is ongoing this afternoon, but it’s understood that the fire is not suspicious.
Kilrush Town Councillor Stephen O’Gorman has told Clare FM that the man is well known and well-liked in the area.
