A man has died in a fire on the grounds of the University of Limerick.
It’s understood the man was in his 80s or 90s and was an academic.

The alarm was raised at about 11.40 last night, when it’s understood a fire broke out at a home in the Kilmurry Village housing complex
Gardaí and a number of local fire service units were dispatched to the scene and firefighters battled the blaze for five hours, before damping down the area.
The body remains at the scene today and the property is sealed off pending a technical examination.
A postmortem examination is due to be carried out and Gardaí say the results of this will determine the course of their investigation.
