A 28-year old man is in a critical condition in hospital after a boating tragedy on the Lower River Shannon this morning.

The man, and three others aged in their 20s to 30s, were found by emergency services in the river at Castleconnell after their boat had capsized around half four this morning.
Gardai are investigating the incident.
