Gardaí are searching for a man who gained entry to a Clare woman’s home by claiming to be a Garda.
It’s understood that a man visited the home last Saturday evening between 6 and 7 o’clock, informed the homeowner he was a Garda and that he was there to check that her money was secure.
The man entered the house, the homeowner subsequently handed over two purses with a quantity of her cash inside and the man subsequently left the scene.
Gardaí say there was no damage to property and the homeowner was unharmed.
The man is described as being approximately 60 years of age, wearing a face mask and denim jeans.
