Man Charged Will Vandalism of De Valera’s Grave

A man is due to appear in court this morning charged in connection with criminal damage which has been caused to the grave of former President, Taoiseach and Clare TD Eamon De Valera.

A man is due to appear in court this morning charged in connection with criminal damage which has been caused to the grave of former President, Taoiseach and Clare TD Eamon De Valera.

A man in his 50s was arrested yesterday afternoon, after damage was caused to the headstone and gravestone of Mr. De Valera.

He's buried in Glasnevin Cemetery.

De Valera was first elected as an MP for East Clare in 1917, while he represented Clare as a TD for over forty years.
